20 Feb
Summary
- Dentist arrested for allegedly operating on a child while intoxicated.
- She failed a field sobriety test before her arrest.
- The dentist denies allegations, awaiting blood test results.

A 36-year-old Texas dentist, Kelly Buck, was arrested on Monday in Sherman for allegedly operating on a child while intoxicated. Police were called to Pediatric Dentistry of Sherman following reports that Buck was under the influence. Officers arriving at the scene observed signs of intoxication, and Buck subsequently failed a field sobriety test.
Buck, who was working as a temporary contractor through Cloud Dentistry, had treated one patient before her arrest. The dental practice expressed deep concern for the patient involved and gratitude to the child's parent for their cooperation. Buck was taken to Grayson County Jail and later posted a $10,000 bond.
Authorities have obtained a search warrant for Buck's blood as part of the investigation. Buck, licensed in Texas since 2016, denies the charges, and her attorney stated she anticipates blood results will prove her sobriety. She has a previously clean disciplinary record, though past arrests for drug possession and traffic violations were noted.
