Leontay Wade was allegedly shot by a neighbor after he sought help following a confrontation with his brother, Kenneth Jolivet. Security footage showed a bloodied Wade attempting to get assistance from neighbors.
Earlier, Kenneth allegedly held their mother, Shirley Jolivet, hostage for six hours, inflicting bruises and using extension cords. She reported that her son threatened to kill her, Leontay, and their father. The mother stated that Leontay arrived during this, leading to a street fight before the shooting.
Kenneth Jolivet reportedly fled the scene and is currently being sought by authorities. The neighbor who shot Leontay Wade is not facing charges at this time, with the incident pending a grand jury review to determine justification. The situation highlights the dangerous escalation of family disputes.
