Cassandra Michaels is on trial, accused of assisting in the shooting death of Caleb Quick. The third day of testimony focused heavily on surveillance video and the movements of a white Tesla, which investigators allege was used as a getaway vehicle.
Detective Lovedeep Malhi presented security footage showing Quick leaving a store with friends, followed by a suspect in black. The gunman then approached Quick, fired, and fled. Quick's friends attempted to render aid while one called 911.
Evidence showed Michaels also leaving the store and previously being at the same McDonald's as Quick before the shooting. A school resource officer confirmed Michaels had a parking permit for a white Tesla, identified by witness Michael Dexter.
Surveillance placed the Tesla outside the McDonald's an hour before the shooting, with Michaels and the suspected shooter among those exiting the vehicle. Later, the Tesla was seen speeding away from the area and was tracked by city cameras, heading in the direction of the suspect's residence. The hearing is scheduled to continue.
