Family members of Vijay Shankar Rao Manawar, who succumbed to his injuries on January 6 after a shooting incident, protested at Hingna police station. They brought Manawar's body to the station, demanding the swift arrest of Nana Deotale and his son, who are accused of the December 24 gunfire stemming from a land dispute in Gumgaon village.
The initial shooting on December 24 left Manawar and four others injured. While Hingna police registered a murder case against the Deotales, no arrests were made due to the accused being hospitalized. The grieving family also sought financial compensation for Manawar's relatives.
Senior police officials, including DCP Rishikesh Reddy, intervened to pacify the agitated family. They explained the legal procedures and assured that action would be taken against the accused once they recovered. Following these assurances, the family departed with the body.
