Michael Shane Vaughan, a 46-year-old fugitive from Tennessee, was arrested on Saturday in Ketchikan, Alaska. U.S. Marshals confirmed his apprehension with the assistance of the Ketchikan Police Department.
Vaughan was sought by the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department on two counts of rape. He had been missing since September of the prior year, when he was last seen in Nashville following the alleged incident.
U.S. Marshals had previously requested public assistance in locating Vaughan, suspecting he might be in Alaska due to family ties and past residency. He is currently detained at the Ketchikan Correctional Center and awaits extradition back to Tennessee.
