- Accused collected money from residents before being apprehended.
Three individuals were arrested on Sunday by the Beltarodi police for allegedly impersonating representatives of Chamatkari Shri Hanuman Mandir in Jam Sawli. The trio is accused of collecting donations using counterfeit receipt books. The arrests followed a complaint from a resident who became suspicious after the individuals solicited funds for Mahaprasad and other temple activities at his home on July 5.
Police verified the authenticity of the donation claims with the temple trust, confirming the accused were not authorized collectors. Preliminary investigations indicate the arrested men, identified as Krishna Walke, Raja Kale, and Vishal Walke, had defrauded at least one resident by collecting 101 rupees via forged documents. Local officials also reported that these individuals were suspected of being part of a larger group involved in home burglaries in the area.
