22 Jul
Summary
- Four men jailed for violent kidnap and torture in Telford.
- Victim dragged from home and forced into car boot.
- Kidnap stemmed from dispute over victim's contact with a 17-year-old.
Four men received significant jail sentences for their involvement in a "violent and frightening" kidnap and torture incident in Telford. Shayyan Hussain, Faheem Chohan, and Ehteshan Hussain were each sentenced to seven and a half years, while Jawad Hussain received seven years.
All four admitted to kidnap in January. The sentencing on Wednesday revealed the victim, a 21-year-old man, was forcibly removed from his residence on December 29, 2025, and placed into the boot of an Audi.
Judge Trevor Meegan stated the abduction arose from a dispute concerning the victim's contact with a 17-year-old woman. This dispute was fueled by concerns over perceived family honor, specifically related to the victim's interaction with Shayyan Hussain's sister.
Leading up to the incident, the victim had endured sustained threats and intimidation. He was warned to leave the Wellington area or face death, underscoring the severity of the perceived honor-based conflict.
