Telangana Police's EAGLE Force has successfully dismantled a sophisticated multi-state drug supply network. The operation, which began with an intelligence tip on May 28, 2026, spanned from the forests of Odisha to Hyderabad.
Investigators uncovered a system where drugs were ordered via WhatsApp, with payments processed through PhonePe. Buyers were then directed to specific locations using Google Maps to collect their purchases. This digital approach minimized face-to-face contact.
The enforcement operation, conducted over 36 hours on August 12-13, 2026, led to the arrest of five alleged suppliers from Odisha. Around 180 suspected consumers were identified, with 100 detained, including seven students, 80 of whom tested positive for drug use.
Police are appealing to students and the public to report drug-related activity via the EAGLE Force helpline 1908, urging young people to steer clear of narcotics.
