31 May
Summary
- Two teens arrested after a police pursuit exceeding 100 mph.
- Car chase spanned multiple towns including Wheatfield and Cambria.
- Unregistered vehicle was disabled using a tire deflation device.

A car chase involving two teenagers concluded early Friday morning after authorities initiated a traffic stop for speeding and obscured license plates. The driver, a 16-year-old male from Lockport, failed to pull over, leading police on a pursuit exceeding 100 mph through Wheatfield, North Tonawanda, and Cambria.
Law enforcement officers monitored the vehicle from a safe distance due to concerns for public safety. The chase ended when the Lewiston Police Department successfully deployed a tire deflation device, disabling the unregistered Chrysler 300 on Saunders Settlement Road in Cambria. Officers conducted a felony traffic stop, safely taking the male driver and a 17-year-old female passenger, also from Lockport, into custody.
The female passenger was released without charges. The male driver faces multiple misdemeanor charges including reckless endangerment and resisting arrest. Due to New York's Raise the Age legislation, he was issued appearance tickets and released to his parents.
