- Assault was filmed by one of the teenage perpetrators.

Three teenagers have been convicted of manslaughter following the death of Alexander Cashford, who was subjected to a fatal assault. The victim was attacked with a bottle and stones after being pursued along a seafront. One of the teenagers filmed the barbaric assault, which involved punching, kicking, and throwing objects at Mr. Cashford.
The teenagers, aged 14 and 15 at the time of the incident last summer, were on holiday with their families. Jurors at Woolwich Crown Court found them not guilty of murder but guilty of the lesser charge of manslaughter. Sentencing will occur at a later date.
Mr. Cashford, aged 49, believed he was meeting a 16-year-old he had been texting. However, the teenagers ambushed him. During the attack, the girl screamed encouragement while one boy struck Mr. Cashford with a bottle and others threw stones.
Police described the incident as 'macabre,' noting the swiftness with which the assault was filmed and shared. While not part of a formal vigilante group, the teenagers initially aimed to expose Mr. Cashford, who was on a tag for a previous stalking conviction and needed to be home by a certain time. The CPS stated the attack was pre-planned and violent, ensuring those responsible were brought to justice.
