Teenage Driver Kills Woman, Injures Husband in Mumbai Crash

A tragic incident occurred in Mumbai on November 12, 2025, when a 17-year-old boy, believed to be the son of a local wine shop owner, lost control of his car and rammed into a couple, killing the woman and injuring her husband.
The accident took place around 2:45 pm in the Dharavi area of Mumbai. The victims were identified as Surekha Kadam, a resident of Shastri Nagar, who died on the spot, and her husband, Satyawan Kadam, who sustained injuries and was rushed to Sion Hospital for treatment.
According to the Dharavi police, the minor driver was allegedly reversing the car when he lost control and crashed into the couple. The police have booked the owner of the Santosh wine shop, his minor son, and the manager of the wine shop, Rajnesh Thakur, in connection with the incident.
Authorities are still investigating the case to determine who gave the car keys to the underage driver, knowing that he was not eligible to drive. The police have charged the accused under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Motor Vehicles Act.
This tragic incident has once again highlighted the need for stricter enforcement of traffic rules and the importance of responsible driving, especially when it comes to minors behind the wheel.
