Summary
- Teenager Raven Brown shot in her back while in bed.
- Bullet missed major artery by inches, causing severe injuries.

A bullet struck Raven Brown, 18, in her back as she lay in bed in Atlanta, Georgia, on February 1. The projectile narrowly missed a major artery, causing a broken shoulder, broken ribs, and a severely damaged lung. Doctors decided against removing the bullet due to its dangerous placement near her arteries.
The harrowing event took place just hours before Raven's 18th birthday. Instead of celebrating, she found herself hospitalized. Her mother, Nora Houston, expressed deep concern, stating that neither she nor Raven feel safe in their home. The Atlanta Police Department has confirmed no suspects have been apprehended.
Raven, a high school senior aiming to join the military after graduation, is known for her academic excellence and outgoing personality. Her family hopes she can still achieve her dreams despite her injuries. A GoFundMe campaign has been established to support her medical expenses.
