In Tiruttani, a grim discovery was made four months after a 15-year-old boy, Suresh, was murdered and buried on a farmland. His employer, M Murugan, and two others, M Bhuvana and M Vinoth, have been arrested in connection with the crime. The victim's mother, S Vennila, and his two younger brothers were held captive in a goat farm by the accused to suppress the news.
The family had been working at the farm for eight months due to financial struggles. Following the disappearance of livestock and poultry while Suresh was managing the farm, Murugan, Bhuvana, and Vinoth confronted and fatally assaulted Suresh. They then buried his body on the farm and threatened his mother.
Vennila managed to escape on Wednesday evening and reported the ordeal to the Tiruttani Town police. The accused were apprehended near Thiruvalangadu. Following her complaint, a case for murder and destruction of evidence was registered. The body was exhumed for an on-site autopsy, and the investigation, including the potential invocation of SC/ST provisions, is continuing. Police are also examining the involvement of a fourth individual.
