Teen Dies After Taking MDMA, Two Charged

A 15-year-old girl has died after reportedly taking MDMA at a residence in Hopton, Norfolk. Emergency services were summoned to the property around 12:30 AM on Saturday, January 24, 2026, following reports that the teenager had become critically ill.
Despite being rushed to James Paget Hospital, she tragically passed away shortly thereafter. In connection with the incident, Norfolk Police arrested two 18-year-olds, Kian Lockett and Nathan Laffitte, on Monday, January 26, 2026.
Both defendants have been charged with supplying MDMA and being concerned in its supply. They appeared at Norwich Magistrates' Court and have been remanded in custody pending a further appearance at Norwich Crown Court on February 25, 2026. A Home Office post-mortem examination is scheduled to determine the exact cause of death.
