Just Eat Disguise Hides Teen Murderer

A teenager has been convicted of a brazen daylight murder in south London, using a disguise to commit the crime. Neo Duodu-Watson, 18, was found guilty of murdering 16-year-old Lathaniel Burrell on March 4 last year.

Duodu-Watson wore a Just Eat delivery rider jacket, riding a stolen moped to conceal his identity. He fired two shots at Burrell outside a block of flats in Stockwell, causing fatal internal bleeding. The gunman's firearm malfunctioned and disintegrated after the shooting, leaving evidence at the scene.

Omar Prempeh, 33, was also convicted of murder for his role in the attack. Prosecutors stated Prempeh drove Duodu-Watson to and from the crime scene in a car fitted with a hidden compartment for the weapon. Both defendants used a "trap house" as a base before and after the shooting, where police later found live ammunition.

The investigation suggested the murder may be linked to organized crime and the illegal drug trade. Jurors were unable to reach verdicts on charges against three other men, who will face a retrial. Duodu-Watson and Prempeh have been remanded into custody pending sentencing.
