The family of Anna Kepner, an 18-year-old cheerleader, is grieving her recent death aboard the Carnival Horizon cruise ship. Described as hardworking and full of energy, Anna was on a Caribbean trip with her family when she was discovered deceased on November 8.
Her body was found under a bed, wrapped in a blanket and life vests. Reports indicate that her 16-year-old stepbrother is considered a suspect in her death, according to an unrelated court filing.
The Miami Dade Medical Examiner's Office continues to investigate the cause and manner of Anna’s death, which remain pending. Anna had aspirations of joining the U.S. Navy and becoming a K9 police officer after graduating.
