In Gosford, a 15-year-old boy has been charged with murder after allegedly stabbing 22-year-old Zane Robson multiple times in the chest. The incident reportedly began with an argument over a hat following a chance encounter on a bus.
Police were called to Mann Street on Tuesday evening, where paramedics treated Robson. He was taken to Gosford Hospital but died shortly after. The teenager allegedly pursued Robson for approximately 20 metres down the street before the fatal stabbing occurred.
Authorities apprehended the boy on Saturday morning at a residence in Lake Haven, where he was found hiding. A 45-year-old woman present at the property was also taken into custody and charged with hindering the investigation.
The boy did not seek bail and his lawyer indicated a desire to pursue proceedings under the Mental Health Act. The woman was granted conditional bail, with her case due in court on August 11. A fundraiser has been established to support Robson's grieving family, who described his death as a senseless act of violence.
