A 19-year-old man, Dayveon Deshawn Perry, has been arrested and faces an attempted murder charge for allegedly firing into a crowded home in Oviedo on Wednesday evening. The incident occurred around 6 p.m. on Doctors Court.
Authorities reported that Perry had a prior confrontation at the residence earlier that day, leading to a request for him to be trespassed. However, he reportedly returned about an hour later armed with a handgun.
Surveillance video captured Perry firing multiple rounds into the home, narrowly missing one resident who was returning from a store. Several children, aged 12, 14, 17, and 17, were inside the house at the time.
Perry was apprehended at his home an hour after the shooting. He initially denied involvement but later admitted to discarding the firearm in nearby woods. He appeared in court on Thursday for violating probation and has a history of misdemeanor arrests.
