In November 1974, Carol DaRonch, an 18-year-old, narrowly escaped Ted Bundy's clutches in Murray, Utah. Bundy, posing as a police officer, attempted to abduct her but she fought back fiercely and escaped. Her survival and subsequent positive identification of Bundy in a police lineup proved pivotal in his conviction.
Bundy was initially sentenced to prison in Utah in 1976. However, he managed to escape twice in 1977, leading him to Florida. There, he committed further murders, including those of Margaret Bowman, Lisa Levy, and 12-year-old Kimberly Leach.
His final arrest occurred in February 1978. Following his conviction for these crimes, Ted Bundy was sentenced to death and was executed in Florida's electric chair on January 24, 1989.
