Teacher Paralyzed After Lover's 'Hulk' Rage

A devastating attack by her partner left a 56-year-old teacher paralyzed from the chest down after she attempted to end their relationship. The victim described her lover, Robert Easom, as a "monster" and "like the Incredible Hulk" during the violent encounter that resulted in a broken neck and severe spinal injuries.

During pre-recorded evidence played to Preston Crown Court, the teacher recounted the terrifying moments Easom became enraged when she informed him of her decision to leave. She explained that she had tried to end the relationship before but was always persuaded to stay. This time, she was determined to be firm.

Easom, a landscape gardener, denies intending to cause her really serious harm. He admits to previous assaults on the teacher. The jury is deliberating on the issue of intent following the harrowing testimony.
