A disturbing case of cyberstalking has emerged in Surat, where a 35-year-old tuition teacher, Bhavesh Patel, was arrested for creating multiple fake Instagram accounts to harass a former student. Patel, who taught commerce and was an administrative partner at Positive Classes, targeted the 23-year-old woman for five years after she completed her studies.
Despite her ceasing classes, Patel allegedly persisted in his campaign of harassment. He is accused of using a virtual number to send defamatory messages to the victim's friends and relatives. Furthermore, he reportedly circulated her photos through the fake social media profiles he had created.
The victim initially approached the police two years ago, but the accused could not be apprehended at that time. However, as the harassment recently intensified, she filed a fresh complaint, prompting the cybercrime police to make the arrest. Investigations are ongoing.
