The Nashik Sessions Court is set to deliver its order on the anticipatory bail application of Nida Khan, a key accused in a case involving sexual harassment and alleged religious conversion at a TCS BPO office in Nashik. Khan's legal counsel has asserted her innocence, stating that the First Information Report (FIR) lacks any mention of forced religious conversion or charges of outraging the modesty of women.
Khan, who moved her bail application on April 18, 2026, cited her two-month pregnancy and argued that the alleged offenses carry a punishment of fewer than seven years. Her whereabouts had been unclear for days, with her husband initially providing contradictory statements to the police. However, her family denied she was evading authorities, stating she was with her husband in Mumbai.
Meanwhile, a Special Investigation Team has been formed as the case expands. Eight arrests have been made across nine FIRs concerning accusations of sexual harassment and coercive religious conversion within the Nashik office. The group is accused of targeting young women with allegations including religious harassment, forced conversion attempts, and coercion of Hindu employees.
Tata Sons chairman N Chandrasekaran has described the allegations as "gravely concerning and anguishing" and has initiated an investigation. TCS has stated that no complaints were formally lodged through its internal mechanisms prior to the FIRs.
