Netflix's documentary 'Maternal Instinct' details the shocking case of Taylor Parker, who faked a pregnancy for ten months. Using a silicone belly and fabricated ultrasounds, Parker deceived those around her, including her boyfriend, Wade Griffin.
To support her elaborate lie, Parker befriended Reagan Hancock, a 21-year-old who was 35 weeks pregnant. Parker brutally murdered Hancock in her New Boston, Texas, home on October 9, 2020. The forensic reports indicated over 100 stab wounds and a fractured skull.
Following the murder, Parker abducted Hancock's unborn child, attempting to flee towards Oklahoma while claiming the baby was her own. A state trooper stopped her for reckless driving. At a hospital, medical professionals quickly identified Parker's claims as false.
Parker was arrested and subsequently sentenced to death in November 2022. Despite an appeal, her sentence was upheld in November 2025. She remains on death row at the Patrick L. O'Daniel Unit prison in Gatesville, Texas, with no execution date set as of June 2026.
