Taylor Parker's decade-long web of lies culminated in a brutal crime, recently featured in Netflix's 'Maternal Instinct.' Parker deceived her boyfriend, Wade Griffin, into believing she was pregnant with their child. This deception masked a far more sinister plan: the murder of her pregnant friend, Reagan Simmons-Hancock.
On October 9, 2020, Parker killed Simmons-Hancock, then performed a crude C-section to remove the unborn infant. After fleeing the scene, she attempted to pass the newborn off as her own. Parker, who had undergone a hysterectomy years prior making pregnancy impossible, was apprehended shortly after. She was later convicted of capital murder and kidnapping in October 2022 and is currently awaiting execution.
Parker's own children, a daughter and a son, are now in the care of her mother, Shona Prior, and ex-husband, Tommy Wacasey. Prior has reportedly sought counseling for her granddaughter to help her process the horrific events and her mother's crimes.
