Mystery Surrounds Tay-K's Prison Release Claims
4 Jun
Summary
- Rapper Tay-K's sister claimed he was coming home, contradicting court records.
- Tay-K, real name Taymor McIntyre, is serving two concurrent decades-long sentences.
- His appeal hinges on claims of prosecutorial misconduct regarding an accomplice's testimony.

Rapper Tay-K's sister, Kayla Beverly, recently posted a video suggesting the artist, Taymor McIntyre, is nearing release. However, official court records paint a different picture. McIntyre is currently serving concurrent sentences totaling over a century, including 55 years for a 2016 murder in Mansfield, Texas, and 80 years for a 2017 murder in San Antonio.
McIntyre, known for his 2016 song "The Race" recorded while he was a fugitive, has faced numerous legal setbacks. His appeals for the 2016 murder conviction were denied in early 2021 and again two years later. The ongoing appeal for the San Antonio murder conviction, filed in May 2025, focuses on allegations that prosecutors misled the jury about an accomplice's past criminal record.
Official records from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice state that McIntyre is not scheduled for release. Parole eligibility is not until August 7, 2049, with his sentence expiring on August 8, 2099. A spokesperson confirmed that McIntyre "is in our system and does not have a release date," casting doubt on his sister's claims of imminent return.
