Summary
- Three suspects arrested within 24 hours for taxi driver's murder.
- Victim abducted and killed with 15 injury marks.
- Revenge motive linked to an accident from November 2025.

Authorities have successfully solved the murder of a 25-year-old taxi driver, Sushil alias Sahil, within 24 hours. Three suspects—Mohit, Rajneesh Kumar, and Raman Singh—were arrested by police on Saturday, February 7, 2026. Investigators believe four to five other individuals were involved and are actively seeking their capture.
The victim was reportedly abducted from Hallomajra on the afternoon of February 6, 2026. He was taken to Preet Colony in Zirakpur, where he was subjected to severe assaults with iron rods, resulting in 15 injuries. His body was subsequently left at a civil hospital in Dera Bassi.
Investigations suggest the murder was an act of revenge. In November 2025, an incident occurred at a birthday party where Sushil's vehicle was involved in an accident resulting in a fatality. Although a case was registered, Sushil had not been arrested at the time.
One of the arrested suspects, Rajneesh Kumar, has a prior extortion case from 2024. The other two, Mohit and Raman Singh, have no criminal records. Sushil, who was engaged and set to marry in two months, lived with his brother and sister-in-law.
