Tandridge District Council has successfully obtained High Court orders to halt unauthorized construction activities at three locations within its district. These rulings mark a significant achievement for the council's enforcement efforts.
The court has mandated that work must cease on sites in Chelsham, Shipley Bridge, and Horne. Judges determined that all three developments were unauthorized, ordering their immediate cessation and awarding costs to the council.
Specifically, the Chelsham site requires restoration to agricultural use, including the replanting of hedges and removal of gates and fencing. Tandridge District Council reported it is currently pursuing 12 injunctions against similar developments.
Council leader Catherine Sayer emphasized the decisive legal action being taken to stop unauthorized development. She stated that these recent judgments validate the council's firm and proactive strategy, assuring that all available legal powers will continue to be utilized.
