Music World Mourns Grammy Winner Talay Riley After Fatal Stabbing

Talay Riley, a Grammy-winning musician and songwriter celebrated for his work with global artists, has died after being fatally stabbed in east London. The incident occurred on the morning of June 5, when paramedics discovered Riley, whose real name was Mark Orabiyi, with stab wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Riley, 35, was renowned for co-writing chart-topping songs for artists including Dua Lipa, Zendaya, Khalid, and Flo.

His brother, producer Scribz Riley, expressed profound grief on Instagram, describing Talay as a "light in so many people's lives" with a "pure heart" and immense talent. Celebrated figures like Stormzy, Oritse Williams, and Wretch 32 have shared tributes, mourning the loss of the gifted artist. Police have arrested three individuals in connection with the stabbing. A 27-year-old man has been released on bail, while a 24-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman have been released with no further action.

Detective Chief Inspector Joanna Yorke confirmed the investigation is ongoing and appealed for witnesses or anyone with CCTV footage from the morning of June 5 in the Silvertown area to come forward.
