In October 2025, over a year after Magnus Humphrey's arrest in connection to the killing of model Mooney, prosecutors have shared new details about the alleged relationship between the two. According to the Los Angeles Times, prosecutors claim that Humphrey, 43, and Mooney, 31, were engaged in a five-day romance in the days leading up to her death.
The pair were allegedly introduced through Humphrey's estranged brother in September 2023. One of Mooney's friends, Keirsten Dossett, stated that Humphrey had become "obsessive" about her pal, with the two rarely "more than one foot apart" during their weeklong relationship. Dossett also alleged that Humphrey attended a family barbecue with Mooney and referred to her as "my girl" and "my woman."
While Humphrey's lawyer, Michael Lambrose, acknowledged the existence of a relationship between the two at the time of Mooney's death, he denied his client's involvement in her murder. Mooney was found bound and gagged in a refrigerator during a routine welfare check in Los Angeles in 2023.
