Man Injured in Police Shootout Near UP-Uttarakhand Border

In Haridwar's Buggawala area, near the Uttar Pradesh-Uttarakhand border, a 35-year-old man accused in a firing incident sustained a leg injury during a police encounter early Friday morning. The suspect, Lukman from Gokulwala village, was apprehended with an illegal firearm and is believed to be involved in a June 9 firing at the Amangarh factory.
Police reported that a patrolling team near Banjarawala encountered two individuals on a motorcycle who allegedly fired at them. During the retaliatory firing, Lukman was wounded. His accomplice, identified as 55-year-old Gulzar from Bhagwanpur, managed to flee under the cover of darkness. Both suspects reportedly have prior criminal records.
Lukman is currently receiving medical attention at a civil hospital and remains in police custody. Authorities have deployed multiple teams to track down and arrest the escaped accomplice, Gulzar.
