Suspect Dies by Suicide After Firing at Deputies

A suspect involved in a domestic violence incident and a subsequent pursuit died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound after firing at Sacramento County Sheriff's deputies. The confrontation began early Monday morning when deputies responded to a 911 call reporting domestic violence within a vehicle.

Upon arrival, the suspect exited the vehicle and discharged at least one round towards a deputy, who was unharmed and did not return fire. The suspect then fled and was later found barricaded at a mobile home park, reportedly armed and issuing threats.

Following an extended standoff, the Sheriff's Office announced the suspect's death, confirming it was self-inflicted and no deputies fired their weapons during the incident. The Coroner's Office will release the suspect's identity after family notification.
