A criminal group has been sentenced to prison for stealing high-performance vehicles in Surrey and West Sussex. The gang specifically targeted Audi RS cars, breaking into residences in Stoneleigh and Copthorne during the night.
While homeowners slept, the thieves would steal car keys and abscond with the vehicles. Romaine Simpson, Charlie Hart, and Kayden Brown pleaded guilty to conspiring to steal vehicles at Guildford Crown Court. Simpson received a sentence of two years and seven months, Hart was jailed for two years and three months, and Brown was sentenced to 16 months in a young offenders' institution.
Authorities apprehended the group after police officers observed a suspicious Audi RS4. The officers discovered the vehicle had cloned registration plates. When the suspects returned to the car, they fled upon spotting the police. A subsequent foot chase led to their capture, with officers recovering car keys belonging to two stolen vehicles.
