Surgery Center Countersues Doctor in Influencer Death Case
5 Sep
Summary
- Surgery center claims Narcan's ineffectiveness disproves overdose.
- Doctor accused of defamation for public comments post-autopsy.
- Influencer died in March after multiple cosmetic procedures.

A legal battle is escalating following the March death of influencer Rachel Tussey, 47, after undergoing procedures at JourneyLite surgery center. The center has filed a counterclaim against Dr. Shahryar Tork, accusing him of defamation and intentionally misleading the public.
JourneyLite contends that Tussey's lack of response to Narcan, an overdose reversal drug administered by staff, strongly suggests she did not overdose on opioids. They argue that if she had, she would have appeared drowsy, but she was alert and responsive.
Dr. Tork had previously sued JourneyLite, alleging they administered a lethal combination of fentanyl and Dilaudid, leading to Tussey's death. The surgery center claims Dr. Tork made these allegations publicly after Tussey's autopsy results were not released and her body had been cremated.
