18 Jan
Summary
- Vascular surgeon charged with murdering ex-wife and her husband.
- Suspect allegedly acted out of rage over ex-wife's new life.
- Killings orphaned two young children, leaving them without parents.

A vascular surgeon, Michael McKee, 39, of Chicago, is facing aggravated murder charges for allegedly killing his ex-wife, Monique Tepe, and her new husband, Spencer, at their Columbus, Ohio, home on December 30. The couple's two young children were orphaned by the incident.
Criminal experts speculate that McKee was driven by intense rage and jealousy, believing his ex-wife had moved on without him. Professor James Alan Fox suggested it could be a 'if I can't have her, no one can' situation. Brian Kohlhepp, a detective, noted the multiple gunshot wounds could indicate 'overkill,' characteristic of domestic homicides.
McKee was apprehended in Illinois following a 10-day manhunt. His ex-wife, Monique, filed for divorce in May 2017, citing incompatibility. Relatives described McKee as emotionally abusive, while neighbors in his hometown of Zanesville, Ohio, expressed shock at his alleged involvement.
