In Bhestan, Surat, a violent incident unfolded on Wednesday afternoon when Satish Ghadge, a 34-year-old known history-sheeter, was allegedly killed by a group of about six men. The attackers, reportedly using three to four vehicles, ambushed Ghadge near the artificial lake while he was with a 20-year-old female companion.
Witnesses described sharp weapons and possible gunshots during the assault. Ghadge, who had been recently released from jail, was attacked inside his car before attempting to flee on foot to an open ground.
His assailants allegedly pursued him and continued their attack, leaving him critically injured. Bhestan police have initiated an investigation, forming teams to apprehend the suspects, who are believed to have fled Surat.
Authorities suspect that Ghadge's past criminal record and potential old enmities, including his prior involvement in the Surya Marathi murder case, may have led to this fatal encounter. The precise motive is expected to be clarified upon the arrest of the accused.
