Hundreds gathered on Sunday evening at Primrose Hill in north London for a vigil remembering Finbar Sullivan, a 21-year-old filmmaking student. Suggs, frontman of the band Madness, performed a song at the event.
Friends, family, and notable musicians, including Paul Weller and members of Primal Scream and The Sex Pistols, were present. Flowers and candles marked the site where Mr. Sullivan was fatally stabbed on April 7.
Mr. Sullivan was a student at the London Screen Academy with ambitions to follow his grandfather's career in cinematography. His father described the tragedy as devastating.
Three men, Ernest Boateng, Alexis Bidace, and Oliuwadamilola Ogunyankinnu, all aged 25 or 27, have been charged with his murder. An 18-year-old, Khalid Abdulqadir, faces separate charges including grievous bodily harm and violent disorder.
