16 Feb

- The fires began in September last year and recently resurfaced.
- Residents speculate on the arsonist's motive and identity.

A quiet Suffolk village has been gripped by fear due to a series of suspected arson attacks over recent months. Residents of Bures, located on the Suffolk-Essex border, believe a single culprit may be responsible for at least five deliberate fires that have occurred since September 9 last year.
The initial incidents included the destruction of Bures Cricket Club's 180-year-old thatched pavilion and a dog waste bin. Over the subsequent four weeks, fires were also set in a compost heap at St. Mary's Church, a garden fence, and a roadside egg stall. Hopes that the attacks had ceased were dashed early last Friday when a historic barn overlooking the village was completely destroyed.
