A 14-year-old student from Keonjhar district, attending KISS school in Bhubaneswar, was murdered by three classmates on the night of December 11th. The fatal altercation reportedly began over a dispute concerning a bathroom bucket. This incident has led to significant legal action beyond the immediate perpetrators.
In addition to charging the three minors involved in the scuffle, police have also implicated eight KISS officials. These individuals, including senior staff and teachers, face charges of murder and destruction of evidence for their alleged role in concealing the crime. Authorities state the officials intimidated witnesses to hide the truth from investigators.
The school's handling of the incident is under intense scrutiny. Instead of reporting the death to the police, school authorities allegedly informed the boy's parents he was unwell and later claimed he died of a heart attack at a hospital. An investigation into the hospital's potential negligence is also underway.
