The body of 21-year-old Shivkumar was recovered from a canal near Dabda road in Hisar on Saturday evening, approximately a week after he went missing. His legs were found tied to his motorcycle with a rope, prompting strong suspicions of foul play.
Shivkumar, who had been living with his aunt in New Model Town Extension, reportedly left his home on the evening of January 9 to purchase groceries, leaving his phone behind. When he failed to return, a missing person report was filed.
The body became visible in the Satrod sub-branch canal after water levels receded. Police retrieved Shivkumar's body and motorcycle from the canal. The body has been sent for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death, and the motorcycle has been taken into police custody for investigation.
Authorities are investigating the incident from all angles, including the possibility of murder, and are awaiting the autopsy report to shed light on the circumstances surrounding Shivkumar's death.
