A class 10 student in Vadodara, India, sent a bomb threat to his own school in an attempt to postpone his CBSE board examinations. The threat was received on March 5 via WhatsApp from an international number, leading to immediate security protocols and a thorough sweep of the school premises, which are located near the Makarpura Air Force Station. Despite the panic caused among students, staff, and parents, no explosives were found, and the exams proceeded as scheduled.
An FIR was initially filed against unknown persons, but investigators from the Cyber Cell traced the message back to one of the school's own students. The student reportedly used a virtual number to send the threat, aiming to create enough mischief to close the campus temporarily. Police have confirmed the threat was a hoax and are now focused on the legal procedures concerning the juvenile. The incident also underscores the need for mental health support for students facing high-stakes exams.
