A 17-year-old student named Rohit Kumar passed away on October 16, 2026, at JLN Hospital. His death followed an alleged assault that occurred on October 7, after he attended a birthday party. The incident began with a dispute involving another youth, Manoj Kumar, and his associates.
Following the birthday celebration, Rohit reportedly faced further abuse and a physical attack from Manoj and approximately ten friends. Although initially treated and discharged on October 14, Rohit was readmitted on the same night with severe stomach pain.
Tragically, he died during treatment early on Friday. In response to his death, the Ramganj police have added a murder charge to the FIR and are actively pursuing the apprehension of the accused individuals. Rohit was the sole son of his parents.
