Stolen Gun with "Switch" Seized After High-Speed Chase in Memphis
16 Nov
Summary
- 3 suspects, including 2 teens, arrested after police chase
- Stolen gun with illegal "switch" modification found in vehicle
- Suspects face charges of evading police and unlawful firearm possession

Last Friday, November 14th, 2025, members of the Memphis Safe Task Force attempted to stop a vehicle for multiple traffic violations. However, the driver refused to pull over and instead led officers on a high-speed pursuit.
The chase ultimately ended when the vehicle lost control and crashed into a telephone pole. Authorities were able to immediately apprehend all three occupants of the car - two 18-year-old men, Lecedri Brown and Christopher Bridges, as well as a juvenile.
During a search of the vehicle, police discovered a stolen gun that had been illegally modified with a "switch" device. This conversion allows a semi-automatic handgun to fire in fully automatic mode, dramatically increasing its rate of fire and lethality.
Brown, Bridges, and the juvenile now face charges of Evading (Vehicle) and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm. They are scheduled to appear in court on Monday morning.
