A devastating theft in Tacoma has left a woman heartbroken after the cremated remains of her 11-year-old brother were stolen from her car. Abbirielle Priest was moving into a new apartment on Sixth Avenue when her vehicle was broken into. Among the stolen items were clothes, suitcases, and personal documents, but her primary concern is her brother's ashes.
Bishop Romeo, who drowned in a paddleboarding accident in 2024, is now being lost for a second time, according to Priest. She reported that the ashes were housed in a suitcase in the back of her car. The next morning, she discovered the suitcase, but her brother's ashes were missing. Surveillance cameras from her apartment building recorded a man entering the building and carrying items through the garage.
Priest shared images from the footage on Facebook, receiving responses from individuals claiming the same man was involved in other thefts. One victim’s shared image of the suspect wearing her concert t-shirt, which was taken from her suitcase, further solidified Priest's suspicions. The Tacoma Police Department confirmed an investigation is underway.
