Joseph Woodard, a 27-year-old man, has turned himself in to the Volusia County Sheriff's Office, ending a manhunt. He was wanted on an aggravated stalking charge after allegedly sending letters and gifts to a 16-year-old girl he met on Snapchat. Woodard had previously appeared at the girl's home uninvited. During a second visit, he allegedly fired multiple gunshots into the ground outside the residence before fleeing in a vehicle.
Deputies located Woodard and his vehicle about 11 miles away, detaining him despite resistance. A search of his car revealed two 9mm handguns, seven spent shell casings, approximately 350 rounds of ammunition, and six Glock pistol magazines. Another spent casing was found in the girl's driveway. Woodard had initially bonded out of jail on charges including stalking and resisting arrest, but new charges followed.
