Dagger Attack Foiled: Two Arrested for Assaulting Head Constable

Srikalahasti police apprehended two young individuals on Wednesday following an assault on a police head constable. The incident transpired on Tuesday afternoon as Head Constable U Ramanaiah was en route to the Srikalahasti railway station, having received an emergency alert regarding a stolen laptop.

Near Happy Kitchen, the constable encountered a traffic obstruction resulting from a two-wheeler accident. After assisting an injured woman, he attempted to clear the road and asked one of the involved riders to report to the police station.

However, the rider's companion, identified as Samudrala Jithendra Kumar, allegedly initiated the assault by grabbing the constable. Achi Srinivasulu, the second accused, reportedly brandished a dagger and attempted to stab the officer, who managed to evade injury. Both were arrested based on the constable's complaint. Srinivasulu faces a prior criminal case.
