17 Nov
Summary
- Masseur sexually assaulted 5 women during treatments
- Received suspended 2-year sentence, must pay £3,500 in compensation
- Victims felt "distressed and violated" by the abuse of trust

In November and December 2024, a 36-year-old masseur named Ibrahim Ali sexually assaulted five women during treatments at the Nirvana Spa in Sindlesham, Berkshire. The victims had booked appointments for back and foot massages, but Ali made them remove all their clothes and put on paper underwear, even when they did not want to. He then pulled down the towels covering their bodies lower than necessary and touched them inappropriately.
All the women reported Ali's behavior to the spa staff, and one went to the police in December 2024, launching an investigation. Ali was arrested and pleaded guilty to the charges. On Monday, November 13, 2025, he was sentenced to two years in jail, suspended for two years, at Reading Crown Court.
In addition to the suspended sentence, Ali was ordered to undergo 40 days of rehabilitation, complete 150 hours of unpaid work, and pay £500 in compensation to each of the five victims, as well as two additional victims who came forward after his conviction, totaling £3,500. The Crown Prosecution Service lawyer, Shilpa Shah, stated that the victims "should have been able to feel safe and relaxed during their treatments" but instead were left "feeling distressed and violated" by Ali's criminal actions.
