A large-scale street brawl, reportedly involving around 30 youths, convulsed Southend city centre on Friday evening. The violence, which occurred around 7:50 pm on Southend High Street, escalated to the point where some participants were allegedly armed with knives and bottles. In response to the significant disorder, Essex Police invoked emergency public order legislation.
