Summary
- A son allegedly murdered his father using a brick and axe.
- The motive for the killing was a dispute over money.
- The incident occurred in Para Ojhi village, Hamirpur district.
In Hamirpur's Sadar Kotwali area, police have arrested a man accused of fatally attacking his 84-year-old father with a brick and an axe. The incident, which transpired on Wednesday night in Para Ojhi village, stemmed from a financial disagreement between the son, Ramzan, and his father, Nawab Ali.
Ramzan, who has been ill and required funds for his medical care and other expenses, had reportedly sought a loan from his father. This led to a dispute that escalated tragically. Nawab Ali was discovered deceased on a cot the following morning, with visible head and facial injuries.
Authorities were alerted by the victim's elder son, Shamsuddin, who serves as the village head. Upon arrival, police and a field unit secured the scene for evidence collection. The body was taken for a post-mortem examination, and an FIR is being registered based on the family's complaint.
Preliminary investigations suggest the motive was indeed a monetary transaction. Further legal proceedings will be determined by the post-mortem findings and the ongoing investigation into the events.
