Baramati (rural) police have made significant progress in the case of the attempted murder of shipping company owner Rana Suryavanshi, arresting two additional suspects, Chaitanya Babar and Swapnil Kamble. These individuals are accused of selecting and recruiting two youths to execute the attack on Suryavanshi near the Baramati airstrip on October 18.
Authorities recently apprehended Parth Awale, aged 19, and a 17-year-old boy, who were allegedly involved in the shooting. Dnyandev Mahadev Shinde, a driver from Solapur, was also arrested and reportedly paid Rs 2 lakh for his participation. Police are actively searching for the individual who paid Shinde, as well as another suspect believed to be the mastermind behind the crime.
Despite Suryavanshi being under police protection with three constables since September of the previous year, the attackers managed to approach him and open fire. Suryavanshi sustained injuries but is currently in stable condition. The motive for the attack is still under investigation, and police are also probing how the assailants tracked Suryavanshi, especially given last-minute changes to his travel plans.
