Concerns have surfaced regarding prior allegations against the daycare. Records indicate that two years before this tragedy, state regulators received a complaint alleging that children were left unattended for extended periods. However, these allegations were deemed unsubstantiated by the California Department of Social Services after an inspection and interviews in February 2024.
Despite the previous unsubstantiated allegations, the daycare has not received any citations. The operator, Anita Saulny-Green, who obtained her license in 2010, declined to comment on the incident. A GoFundMe campaign for Cya's family had raised over $12,000 as of Tuesday.
